Tsumugi (Pongee) Ⅰ

散華 ―Sange―

It means that people in Buddhism scatter flowers to hold a memorial service for Buddha.

I was attracted to the nonfiction story of Auschwitz camp, “Rena’s promise” and then I made this work.

 

Material: Silk thread     

Warp: Piled yarn 168d 

Weft: Hand spun silk yarn 4.5 Mon-me

Color: Sappan wood, Alnus firma, Walnut,

          Quercus myrsinifolia, Nutgall

Technique: Loom tightened splash pattern

秋声 ―Shuusei―

It means a sign of autumn when you can feel the sound of wind and rain, sighs of leaves.

 

Material: Silk thread     

Warp: Piled yarn 168d 

Weft: Hand spun silk yarn (Soft twist) 5 Mon-me

Color: Alnus firma, Nutgall, Chestnut

Technique: Loom tightened splash pattern,

                 Incus beating

綺羅 ―Kira―

綺羅-Kira~like a star~

-ki” means twill weave, and

-ra” means silk fabric.

 

Material: Silk thread     

Warp: Piled yarn 168d 

Weft: Single twist yarn 252d

Color: Alnus firma, Nutgall, Walnut, Betel palm               tree, Myrica rubra, Chestnut, Clove, 

          Harlequin glorybower, Japanese pagoda             tree (Sophora japonica), Indigo

Technique: Scatter Hanaui (weft floating weave)

It means reconsidering words and expressions again and again.

 

Material: Silk thread     

Warp: Piled yarn 63d 

Weft: Piled yarn weave 128d

Color: Sappan wood, Alnus firma, Waltnut,                     Quercus myrsinifolia, Nutgall and others.

Technique: Six Patterns weave, Stripe
